The Christmas Shopping Season

The Christmas shopping season has officially begun. As a minion of the retail monster, I have been a slave to the masses for the past two days. Up and at work by 5:30am yesterday and there at 7:30am today.

Hooray.

Needless to say, I have not been feeling very creative lately. It is difficult to let your imagination flow when you can barely keep your eyes open.

But when the holiday season slows down, it will be easier to get back to my fiction. Calli is standing in a Roman alley, waiting for me to return. Her sister, Echo, is trying to convince Martina to allow a young boy to join them. Aria, from my very first novel, is urging me to return to the task of writing the synopsis of her adventures so I can get her out into the publishing world once again.

So many little things are getting in the way. But I will get back to them soon.

Soon . . .

I hear ya, fellow retail minion. I escaped the opening crush by being a closer. Oh the problems that can crop up on that end and did, not even counting the customers, who were actually fairly mellow by then. (I'm sure you can guess the issues we had.) Closed at 10pm, didn't make it out of there until 11.

Meridia is pulling at me even stronger now to go back to it, while my zombies are moaning for attention. I haven't written anything on my stories for a couple weeks. Maybe this week I'll get some done. Looking forward to seeing more of yours. I'd love to see Aria at my store so I can try to sell a bunch of copies for you. Go go querying. And writing them to begin with. :)

Sigh. It's nice to have someone who understands, but still - I'm sorry that you do, Jaleh! ;-)

Loooong weekend. So sleepy. I think I'll sleep all day tomorrow.

I haven't written for a few weeks either and it's making me crazy(crazier?). LOL!

I'm really hoping to finish my synopsis of Aria tomorrow. Thanks for the selling offer. ;-) I'll come and sign books at your store, that should help. :-D Of course you must return the favor.

Good luck getting back to your writing too.

And on a side note. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO THE WD WEBSITE? I've tried to sign on the past two days and it's just a big mash of letters. :-O

YOu know well my thoughts on shopping and the retail world. I feel for you.

Here's to hoping you get back your characters and their world soon.
